Possesses strong leadership and performance delivery expertise in establishing, running and growing businesses not only across product lines but also regionally and globally. Has founded companies in the financial sector, notably in the brokerage and asset management industry, and expanded the same and managed successful acquisitions and exits.

Omar Abedin

Head Venture Capital Investments

30 years of experience spread over local and regional corporate and start up space. Co-founded 800-Battery, a UAE-based automotive startup, in 2010, and HarKaam, a Pakistani freelancing platform, in 2020. Also a Founding Director of the Karachi Chapter of the Founder Institute, one of the leading Silicon Valley-based pre-seed accelerators in the world. Prior to joining TMT was working as Director of the National Incubation Center Karachi (NICK).

Dr. Kamran Iqbal

Harvard-trained physician and INSEAD Social Entrepreneur with 17+ years of operator, entrepreneurial, advisory, venture capital and networking experience excelling in health systems and innovation. Expertise in identifying, curating, operating, managing, and investing in healthcare, health tech, med tech, biotech, life sciences and deep tech. Proven success in driving transformational impact, fostering public-private partnerships, and leveraging emerging technologies.

Zafar Ahmed Khan

Over 20 years of experience in the field of Internal Audit, Risk Management & Compliance, Company Secretary, Financial & Management Accounting, Management Reporting and Financial Analysis. Prior to joining TMT Ventures he was the CFO & Company Secretary of BIPL Securities Limited. His past work experience also includes being CFO and Company Secretary in Modaraba Al Mali.

Arsalan Farooq

Head Risk & Compliance

Over 8 years of experience in managing Corporate, Regulatory and Board Affairs of Listed Companies on Pakistan Stock Exchange. Joins TMT from K-Electric where he was working in a senior role in Corporate Affairs Department. Has also worked as Company Secretary of BIPL Securities Limited (now AKD Securities Limited) and with Lakson Group of companies.

Imran Saeed

A fintech industry expert with 20 plus years of experience across multiple regions, including the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America. Comes with a proven track record of enabling regional and global financial institutions, as well as startups, with their fintech initiatives and product visions. Part of various fintech ventures, serving on boards, founding teams, and in leadership positions. He is also a co-founder of two fintech venture studios based in the Middle East and Europe.

Aqeel Karim Dhedhi

Chairman AKD Group

An eminent personality in business and philanthropic circles, he brings with him more than 50 years of leadership experience. He is the Chairman of AKD Group having interests in Financial Services (Brokerage, Investment Banking, Asset Management), Real Estate & Housing, Telecommunication, Technology, Infrastructure and Oil & Gas Sectors. Synonymous with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), he has played a pivotal role in the development of capital markets in the country, having previously sat on the boards of the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) and the Islamabad Stock Exchange (LSE) prior to demutualization.

During his career, he has been actively involved with various not-for-profit organizations in Pakistan including the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital, The Indus Hospital, World Memon Organization, Karachi School of Business and Leadership, the Aga Khan University, Behbood Society, Namal University etc. He has two honorary Doctorates bestowed on him by the Biztek Institute of Business & Technology and the Indus University. Also, he is the recipient of “Sitara-e-Imtiaz”, one of the highest civilian accolades in Pakistan, which was conferred to him by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in 2019.

Hina Dhedhi Junaid

Chairperson AKD Securities Limited

Serving for over a decade as the Chairperson of AKD Securities Ltd. She has developed deep insights into the capital markets of Pakistan. She possesses wide-ranging exposure to private investments, real estate development, investment banking, equity investments and commodities trading. Added to this she has strong interpersonal skills and has built solid business relationships with the local and regional financial institutions, family offices, private investors and portfolio investors.

As a socially aware business leader, she is also active in various philanthropist activities, charitable causes and social welfare projects in the domains of primary education, medical research and poverty alleviation. In a unique position as the first female chairperson of a Pakistani brokerage house, she champions women empowerment initiatives across various fields. As part of her ESG activities she has been involved with renowned institutions and foundations including HANDS, SIUT, WWF and ORANGE TREE.
